Cats are so cute and cuddly that you wouldn’t think you would have a hard time training them where to poop and pee.
They may be easier to train than dogs but this does not assure you that it will be a smooth ride.

Start by choosing a litter box for your cat.Easy access to the litter box is a must in training a cat.If training a kitten, be sure that the litter box is just high enough but make sure that the kitten can step in and out of it easily.
The cat will be discouraged to make use of the litter box if it finds it too complicated to get into.Attracting your cat to use the litter box by keeping it clean, will serve as another trick that you can use in training a cat.
Cats usually do not like bad odors and their strong sense of smell picks up even the faintest of smells.Be sure to always clean the litter box and use cleaning tools that are unscented or better yet, just stick to soap and water.
Remember to also change the litter every few days in order for the box to remain clean and enticing for the cat.Your initiative may be necessary during the early stages of training a cat by putting it inside the litter box.Do this first thing in the morning or after the cat wakes up and after every meal.
Familiarizing your cat with the litter box during play time is also advised.This practice has to be continuous for a few weeks.If the cat successfully does its business inside the litter box then you can reward it with food and lots of love.Cats remember this and will associate being inside the litter box with being good.Sure enough, your cat will start using the box on its own initiative.
